2019 ANCHOR WOMEN'S CONFERENCE
ABOUT THE CONFERENCE
Unfailing Love: Jesus and His Bride
Proverbs 19:22a, “What a person desires is unfailing love...”
While it might be easy to see ourselves as the children of God, or even as the sheep of His pasture, it can be difficult to identify ourselves as the bride of Christ—radiant, beautiful, spotless. Could it be, like the church in Ephesus, as recorded in Revelation 2:4, we have forsaken our first love, and therefore it seems the romance has died in our relationship with our Savior, the lover of our souls. The Spirit longs to fan our love for Jesus into a flame once again, that ignites a burning desire for our Bridegroom’s return.
There is a beautiful correlation between our love story with Jesus and the ancient traditions of a Jewish wedding. We will take a close look at that correlation and then go deeper by making that correlation personal. Not surprising there are seven significant steps or parts of a Jewish wedding: The Shiddukhin – A choice made, The Ketubah – A covenant sealed, The Mohar – A price paid, The Mikveh – A washing clean, The Eyrusin – A separation of preparation, The Matan – A gift given, The Nissuin – A wedding celebrated.
