What Do You Want, God?! By Pastor Bryan Carle

Micah 6:8 (NKJV) He has shown you, O man, what is good; And what does the Lord require of you but to do justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God?

Luke 10:27-37 (NKJV) 27 So he answered and said, “ ‘You shall love the Lord, your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind,’ and ‘your neighbor as yourself.’ ” 28 And He said to him, “You have answered rightly; do this and you will live.” 29 But he, wanting to justify himself, said to Jesus, “And who is my neighbor?”30 Then Jesus answered and said: “A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among thieves, who stripped him of his clothing, wounded him, and departed, leaving him half dead. 31 Now by chance a certain priest came down that road. And when he saw him, he passed by on the other side. 32 Likewise a Levite, when he arrived at the place, came and looked, and passed by on the other side.33 But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was. And when he saw him, he had compassion. 34 So he went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine; and he set him on his own animal, brought him to an inn, and took care of him. 35 On the next day, when he departed, he took out two denarii, gave them to the innkeeper, and said to him, ‘Take care of him; and whatever more you spend, when I come again, I will repay you.’ 36 So which of these three do you think was neighbor to him who fell among the thieves?” 37 And he said, “He who showed mercy on him.”Then Jesus said to him, “Go and do likewise.”

There comes a point in our journey with God that we shift from the question “What do You want, God?” to “What are You up to, God?…and what are we going to do today?!

The lawyer in Luke 10 wanted a list of rules to follow...Jesus wanted him to live! God invites us on an adventure interactive with Him, but to do so, we must lay aside our list of rules and enter into a living relationship with Him.

Luke 8:34-37(NKJV)34 When those who fed them saw what had happened, they fled and told it in the city and in the country. 35 Then they went out to see what had happened, and came to Jesus, and found the man from whom the demons had departed, sitting at the feet of Jesus, clothed and in his right mind. And they were afraid. 36 They also who had seen it told them by what means he who had been demon-possessed was healed. 37 Then the whole multitude of the surrounding region of the Gadarenes asked Him to depart from them, for they were seized with great fear. And He got into the boat and returned.

On this adventure, we will encounter ourselves. Challenges, hardship, disappointments, success, abundance, loss, anger etc. create opportunities for us to evaluate ourselves, die to the junk, and let it go so we can live.

God is always in the process of empowering us to become everything He has destined us to be.

His answer....I want you!!
