Restoring the Glory

Luke 15:8-10 [NIV], “Or suppose a woman has ten silver coins and loses one.  Does she not light a lamp, sweep the house and search carefully until she finds it?  9 And when she finds it, she calls her friends and neighbors together and says, “Rejoice with me; I have found my lost coin.’ 10 In the same way, I tell you, there is rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.”

Galatians 5:22-23, But the fruit of the Spirit is…

  1. love

  2. joy

  3. peace

  4. patience

  5. kindness

  6. goodness

  8. gentleness

  9. self control

1 Corinthians 12:1-11 [NIV],
Now about the gifts of the Spirit, brothers and sisters, I do not want you to be uniformed. ...4 There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit distributes them. 5 There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord. 6 There are different kinds of working, but in all of them and in everyone it is the same God at work. 7 Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good. 8 To one there is given through the Spirit...

  1. word of wisdom

  2. word of knowledge

  3. gift of faith

  4. gifts of healing

  5. miracles

  6. prophecy

  7. discerning of spirits

  8. different kinds of tongues

  9. interpretation of tongues.

11 All these are the work of one and the same Spirit, and he distributes them to each one, just as he determines.

"Because we have not sought after the fullness of the Holy Spirit we have lost the full expression of His glory in our lives."

Isaiah 60:1-2, Arise, shine; for your light has come!  And the glory of the Lord is risen upon you. 2 For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and deep darkness the people; but the Lord will arise over you.  And His glory will be seen upon you.

Ephesians 4:30, And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God...

1 Thessalonians 5:19, Do not quench [restrain or put out the fire of] the Spirit.

Grieving the Spirit speaks directly to the fruit of the Spirit and our refusal to grow in them.

Quenching the Spirit speaks directly to the gifts of the Spirit and our unwillingness to yield to the manifestation of them.

We need to stand in the middle and ask Him for the grace to walk in the fruit and the gifts.

Exodus 33:15-18 [NIV], "If your Presence does not go with us, do not send us up from here." ...17 And the Lord said to Moses, "I will do the very thing you have asked, because I am pleased with you and I know you by name." 18 Then Moses said, "Now show me your glory."
4.  Rejoiced

2 Chronicles 5:13-14, indeed it came to pass, when the trumpeters and singers were as one, to make one sound to be heard in praising and thanking the Lord, and when they lifted up their voice with the trumpets and cymbals and instruments of music, and praised the Lord, saying "For He is good, For His mercy endures forever," that the house, the house of the Lord was filled with a cloud, 14 so that the priest could not continue ministering because of the cloud:  for the glory of the Lord filled the house of God.
