The Purpose and Value of Our Trials

John 16:33 [TPT], “And everything I’ve taught you is so that the peace which is in Me will be in you and will give you great confidence as you rest in Me.  For in this unbelieving world you will experience trouble and sorrow, but you must be courageous, for I have conquered the world!”

Q—How will we respond WHEN we face adversity?

“You never know how deep a tree is planted until a storm comes.”

Proverbs 24:10 [NKJV], If you faint in the day of adversity, your strength is small.

  • The purpose of our trials is to reveal what is in us.

  • The purpose of our trials is to train us for the fight.

Romans 5:2-5 [NLT], Because of our faith, Christ has brought us into this place of undeserved privilege where we now stand, and we confidently and joyfully look forward to sharing God’s glory. 3 We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance. 4 And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation. 5 And this hope will not lead to disappointment.  For we know how dearly God loves us, because He has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with His love.
