Pause: Time Out

1.  When Order Looks Different:  God has used a shaking to cultivate order.

2.  The Story Isn’t Over:  We need to wake up from spiritual amnesia.

3.  An Appointed Time:  “Shaking & judgment” and “glory & harvest.”

4.  Refiner’s Fire:  Preparing ourselves to be the spotless bride of Christ.

5.  The Value of Repentance:  The importance of having a pure heart.

Jeremiah 1:7-8 [NLT], The Lord replied, “Don’t say, ‘I’m too young,’ for you must go wherever I send you and say whatever I tell you. 8 And don’t be afraid of the people, for I will be with you and will protect you.  I, the Lord, have spoken!”

“If you want to be entertained or equipped?”

Ephesians 4:12 [NKJV], for the equipping of the saints, for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ.

Ephesians 4:13-15 [NLT], This will continue until we all come to such unity in our faith and knowledge of God’s Son that we will be mature in the Lord, measuring up to the full and complete standard of Christ. 14 Then we will no longer be immature like children.  We won’t be tossed and blown about by every wind of new teaching.  We will not be influenced when people try to trick us with lies so clever they sound like the truth. 15 Instead, we will speak the truth in love, growing in every way more and more like Christ, who is the head of His body, the church.

“Are you willing to eat what’s being put on the table?”

James 1:19-25 [NLT], So get rid of all the filth and evil in your lives, and humbly accept the word God has planted in your hearts, for it has the power to save your souls. 22 But don’t just listen to God’s word.  You must do what it says. Otherwise, you are only fooling yourselves. 23 For if you listen to the word and don’t obey, it is like glancing at your face in a mirror. 24 You see yourself, walk away, and forget what you look like. 25 But if you look carefully into the perfect law that sets you free, and if you do what it says and don’t forget what you heard, then God will bless you for doing it.

James 3:26 [NKJV], For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.

Hebrews 4:2-3 [TPT], For we have heard the good news of deliverance just as they did, yet they didn’t join their faith with the Word.  Instead, what they heard didn’t affect them deeply, for they doubted. 3 For those of us who believe, faith activates the promise and we experience the realm of confident rest!”

Joshua 3:1-6 [NLT], Early the next morning Joshua and all the Israelites left Acacia Grove and arrived at the banks of the Jordan River, where they camped before crossing. 2 Three days later the Israelite officers went through the camp, 3 giving these instructions to the people:  “When you see the Levitical priests carrying the Ark of Covenant of the Lord your God, move out from your positions and follow them. 4 Since you have never traveled this way before, they will guide you.  Stay about half a mile behind them, keeping a clear distance between you and the Ark.  Make sure you don’t come any closer.” 5 Then Joshua told the people, “Purify [sanctify or consecrate] yourselves, for tomorrow the Lord will do great wonders among you.” 6 In the morning Joshua said to the priests, “Lift up the Ark of the Covenant and lead the people across the river.”

James 4:7-10 [NLT], So humble [submit] yourselves before God.  Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. 8 Come close to God, and God will come close to you.  Wash your hands, you sinners; purify [consecrate] your hearts, for your loyalty is divided between God and the world. 9 Let there be tears for what you have done.  Let there be sorrow and deep grief.  Let there be sadness instead of laughter, and gloom instead of joy. 10 Humble yourselves before the Lord, and He will lift you up in honor.
