Something New- Part Two

Isaiah 43:18-19 [NKJV], "Do not remember the former things, nor consider the things of old. 19 Behold, I will do a new thing…

  • Behold means, “Wow! Stand in awe and be amazed.”

  • When it comes to God’s promises, some times it is easy for us to make the mistake of thinking they will just happen without any change or effort on our part.

Numbers 23:19 [NLT], God is not a man, so He does not lie.  He is not human, so He does not change His mind.  Has He ever spoken and failed to act?  Has He ever promised and not carried it through?

Isaiah 43:18-19 [NKJV], "Do not remember the former things, nor consider the things of old. 19 Behold, I will do a new thing, now it shall spring forth; shall you not know it?  I will even make a road in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.”

  • Wilderness means; “an uninhabited land.”

  • Desert means; “a wasteland or desolate place.”

Marks of a new thing:

-a fresh anointing             -new perspectives of people & ministry

-fresh revelation                         -new levels of responsibility and trust

-fresh faith             -new levels of influence and favor

-fresh insight & clarity of vision             -new assignments

-fresh encounters w/God             -an upgrade in the way we think, understand, wisdom

-greater levels of provision and abundance        -an upgrade in our God-given identity

-new levels of discernment               -upgrade in hearing God’s voice & being led by His Spirit

The threshold contains:

-spiritually dry places

-challenges to test our faith

-fiery trials from the enemy

-dark nights of the soul

-we are misunderstood & talked about

-people question our call, purpose, and motives

-confronted with thoughts of discouragement

-face our fears, doubts and insecurities

Deuteronomy 8:2 [NLT], Remember how the Lord your God led you through the wilderness for these forty years, humbling you and testing you to prove your character, and to find out whether or not you would obey His commands.

Luke 4:1-2 [NLT], Then Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan River.  He was led by the Spirit in the wilderness, 2 where He was tempted by the devil for forty days.

Luke 4:14 [NLT], Then Jesus returned to Galilee, filled with the Holy Spirit’s power.

Psalm 23:4 [NKJV], Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for You are with me…
