Finish

* WHY IS IT IMPORTANT FOR US TO FINISH?

* Because it shows the character of God in us … BECAUSE GOD FINISHES WHAT HE STARTS

Genesis 2:1-3 NLT So the creation of the heavens and the earth and everything in them was completed. 2 On the seventh day God had finished His work of creation, so He rested from all His work. 3 And God blessed the seventh day and declared it holy, because it was the day when He rested from all His work of creation.

 John 4:34 NLT Then Jesus explained: “My nourishment comes from doing the will of God, who sent Me, and from finishing His work.

2 Timothy 4:6-7 NLT As for me, my life has already been poured out as an offering to God. The time of my death is near. 7 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, and I have remained faithful.

* WHAT HAPPENS WHEN WE FINISH?

* When something is finished, IT SHOWS VALUE

 John 17:1-4 NLT After saying all these things, Jesus looked up to heaven and said, “Father, the hour has come. Glorify Your Son so He can give glory back to You. 2 For You have given Him authority over everyone. He gives eternal life to each one You have given Him. 3 And this is the way to have eternal life—to know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, the one You sent to earth. 4 I brought glory to You here on earth by completing the work You gave Me to do

* When something is finished, IT OPENS RESOURCES FOR SOMETHING ELSE

 Hebrews 5:12 NLT You have been believers so long now that you ought to be teaching others. Instead, you need someone to teach you again the basic things about God’s word. You are like babies who need milk and cannot eat solid food.

* When something is finished, IT PROVES WE CAN BE TRUSTED

 Matthew 25:21 NLT “The master was full of praise. ‘Well done, my good and faithful servant. You have been faithful in handling this small amount, so now I will give you many more responsibilities. Let’s celebrate together!’

* HOW DO WE FINISH?

* Learn to look and listen for what He’s calling us to do

John 5:19 NLT So Jesus explained, “I tell you the truth, the Son can do nothing by Himself. He does only what He sees the Father doing. Whatever the Father does, the Son also does.

John 2:5 NLT But His mother told the servants, “Do whatever He tells you.”

* Trust in His strength and plan, not our own

 Philippians 1:6 NLT And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.

* DON’T GIVE UP

2 Timothy 4:7 NLT I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, and I have remained faithful.
