All Things

Romans 8:31-32 [NKJV], What then shall we say to these things?  If God is for us, who can be against us? 32 He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?

1 Timothy 6:17 [NKJV], Command those who are rich in this present age not to be haughty, nor trust in uncertain riches but in the living God, who gives us richly all things to enjoy.

2 Peter 1:2-3 [ESV], May grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord. 3 His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness…

  • Because of His immense love for us, God has chosen to withhold nothing good from us.

Ephesians 2:12-14 [NIV], [a] time you were separate from Christ…foreigners to the covenants of the promise, without hope and without God in the world. 13 But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near by the blood of Christ. 14 For He Himself is our peace, who has…destroyed the barrier, the dividing wall of hostility [middle wall of separation]

Ephesians 2:19 [NKJV], Now, therefore, you are no longer strangers and foreigners; but fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God…

  • He redeemed us so that we could become one of His children; an heir.

Galatians 4:4-7 [NIV], But when the set time had fully come, God sent His Son, born of a woman, born under the law, 5 to redeem those under the law, that we might receive adoption to sonship. 6 Because you are His sons, God sent the Spirit of His Son into our hearts, the Spirit who calls out, “Abba, Father.” 7 So you are no longer a slave, but God’s child; and since you are His child, God has made you also an heir.

Romans 8:16-17 [NKJV], The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, 17 and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ…

  • All of the things the Father has given us, as His children, are nothing more than our rightful inheritance as co-heirs with Christ. Inheritance only comes through sonship.

1 Peter 1:4 [NIV], …an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade.  This inheritance is kept in heaven for you…

  • We cannot afford to continue to ignore the sizable gap between what God has given us access to and what we are actually walking in.

1.  We don’t know what we’ve been given

Colossians 1:12 [NIV], and giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of his holy people in the kingdom of light.

2.  We keep waiting on God to do it all

Isaiah 45:11 [NKJV], For the Lord, the Holy One of Israel, and its Maker says this, “Ask Me about the things to come concerning My sons, and give Me orders concerning the work of My hands.”

  • He wants us to step out and use the authority He has already given us by commanding His power; so He can do it again.

“If the Spirit’s not moving, I’ll move Him!”  —Smith Wigglesworth

Luke 9:1-2 [NKJV], Then He called His twelve disciples together and gave them power and authority over all demons, and to cure diseases. 2 He sent them to preach the kingdom of God and to heal the sick.

Luke 9:6 [NKJV], So they departed and went through the town, preaching the gospel and healing everywhere.

Why was Jesus given the anointing, power, and authority He had?

  • We were not given access to our inheritance [all things] to benefit ourselves.

“We were allowed to share in Jesus’ inheritance, because we’ve been called to share in His mission.”

Luke 4:16-22 [ESV], And He came to Nazareth, where He had been brought up.  And as was His custom, He went to the synagogue on the Sabbath day, and He stood up to read. 17 And the scroll of the prophet Isaiah was given to Him.  He unrolled the scroll and found the place where it was written, 18 “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because He has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor.  He has sent me to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed, 19 to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.” 20 And He rolled up the scroll and gave it back to the attendant and sat down.  And the eyes of all in the synagogue were fixed on Him. 21 And He began to say to them, “Today this Scripture has been fulfilled in your hearing.” 22 And all spoke well of Him and marveled at the gracious words that were coming from His mouth.

“His mission was to take that which was out of order and to put it into order.  He came to make things right!”

John 20:21 [NKJV], So Jesus said to them again, “Peace to you!  As the Father has sent Me, I also send you."

“We were allowed to share in Jesus’ inheritance, because we’ve been called to share in His mission.”

Ephesians 4:15 [AMP], But speaking the truth in love [in all things—both our speech and our lives expressing His truth], let us grow up in all things into Him [following His example] who is the Head—Christ.
