Intentional Living Part 4

How can we give more attention to the areas that should matter the most in our lives?

Which are, our…

  • Relationship with God

  • His purpose for our lives

  • Marriage

  • Children

  • Emotional, mental & physical health

  • Friendships

  • Stewarding of resources

  • If we are going to be fruitful in the areas that matter the most, then it will require us to become more intentional with our time.

  • The main reason we aren’t seeing the fruit, is because we’ve allowed ourselves to become too busy.

How different could my life be, if I exchanged the clutter for a life of intentionality?

Mark 6:31 [TPT], There was such a swirl of activity around Jesus, with so many people coming and going, that they were unable to even eat a meal.  So Jesus said to His disciples, “Come, let’s take a break and find a secluded place where you can rest a while.”

Matthew 11:28-30 [NLT], Then Jesus said, “Come to Me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. 29 Take My yoke upon you.  Let Me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For My yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.”

  • When God invites us to come rest, it is not an invitation to become inactive or lazy.

  • God never calls us to live in a constant state of hurry, neither does He call us to live in a constant state of inactivity.

Exodus 3:1-4 [NLT], One day Moses was tending the flock of his father-in-law, Jethro… He led the flock far into the wilderness and came to Sinai, the mountain of God. 2 There the angel of the Lord appeared to him in a blazing fire from the middle of a bush.  Moses stared in amazement.  Though the bush was engulfed in flames, it didn’t burn up. 3 “This is amazing,” Moses said to himself.  “Why isn’t that bush burning up?  I must go see it.” 4 When the Lord saw Moses coming to take a closer look, God called to him from the middle of the bush, “Moses, Moses!”  “Here I am!” Moses replied.

1.  Who He is

2.  His heart for His people

3.  He gave Moses direction

  • The reason why more of us aren’t living emotionally healthy and spiritually rich lives is because we can’t strike the BALANCE between busyness and inactivity.

Isaiah 40:31 [NKJV], But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles.  They shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.

Why are so many Christians living like they are just ‘missing’ something in their lives?

  • It’s because so many of us lack a real, God-given purpose.

  • If we are going to discover and fulfill our God-given purpose we will have to change, because our purpose is NEVER about us.

"Who are you, Lord?” and “What would You have us to do?”
