More Than Enough

  • You cannot be intimate with WHO you don’t know.

2 Timothy 1:12 (NKJV) For this reason I also suffer these things; nevertheless I am not ashamed, for I know whom I have believed and am persuaded that He is able to keep what I have committed to Him until that Day.

  • Intimacy“close familiarity or friendship, closeness.”

Revelation 3:20 (NIV) Here I am!  I stand at the door and knock.  If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with Me.

Deuteronomy 4:29-31 (NIV) But if from there you seek the Lord your God, you will find Him if you seek Him with all your heart and with all your soul. 30 When you are in distress and all these things have happened to you, then in later days you will return to the Lord your God and obey Him. 31 For the Lord your God is a merciful God; He will not abandon or destroy you or forget the covenant with your ancestors, which He confirmed to them by oath.

  • If we have nothing but intimacy with God, we have EVERYTHING.

Isaiah 29:13 (NLT) And so the Lord says, “These people say they are Mine.  They honor Me with their lips, but their hearts are far from Me.  And their worship of Me is nothing but man-made rules learned by rote.”

Galatians 1:10 (ESV) For am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God?  Or am I trying to please man?  If I were still trying to please man, I would not be a servant of Christ.

John 6:26-27 (NLT) Jesus replied, “I tell you the truth, you want to be with Me because I fed you, not because you understood the miraculous signs. 27 But don’t be so concerned about perishable things like food.  Spend your energy seeking the eternal life that the Son of Man can give you.  For God the Father has given me the seal of His approval.

John 17:3 (NLT) And this is the way to have eternal life—to know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, the one You sent to earth.

Joshua 1:9 (NLT) This is My command—be strong and courageous!  Do not be afraid or discouraged.  For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.

Which is more important (to you):  The approval of man OR the approval of God?

John 10:10 (TPT) A thief has only one thing in mind—he wants to steal, slaughter, and destroy.  But I have come to give you everything in abundance, more than you expect—life in its fullness until you overflow!

  • Restore“to bring back; repair or return to its original condition.”

  • We were originally created for intimacy; therefore, we need to be restored back to our original intent with God.

2 Corinthians 5:16-21 (NLT) At one time we thought of Christ merely from a human point of view.  How differently we know Him now! 17 This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person.  The old life is gone; a new life has begun! 18 And all of this is a gift from God, who brought us back to Himself through Christ.  And God has given us this task of reconciling people to Him. 19 For God was in Christ, reconciling the world to Himself, no longer counting people’s sins against them.  And He gave us this wonderful message of reconciliation. 20 So we are Christ’s ambassadors; God is making His appeal through us.  We speak for Christ when we plead, “Come back to God!” 21 For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ.

  • We have an option to either accept or reject this relationship, but how we respond determines what we will receive.

John 15:15 (TPT) I have never called you ‘servants,’ because a master doesn’t confide in his servants, and servants don’t always understand what the master is doing.  But I call you My most intimate and cherished friends, for I reveal to you everything that I’ve heard from My Father.

  • After intimacy has been restored, we must maintain it.

“Monotony is the killer of importance.”  —Garrett Gildea

  • Our walk of faith is not based on FEELINGS.

Genesis 5:21-24 (NLT) When Enoch had lived 65 years, he became the father of Methuselah. 22 After he became the father of Methuselah, Enoch walked faithfully with God 300 years and had other sons and daughters. 23 Altogether, Enoch lived a total of 365 years. 24 Enoch walked faithfully with God; then he was no more, because God took him away.

Hebrews 11:5-6 (NIV) By faith Enoch was taken from this life, so that he did not experience death:  “He could not be found, because God had taken him away.”  For before he was taken, he was commended as one who pleased God. 6 And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to Him must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him.

Hebrews 11:1 …being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.

  • If we are going to walk in intimacy with God it will require FAITH.

Exodus 33:12-17 (NKJV) Then Moses said to the Lord, “See, You say to me, ‘Bring up this people.’  But You have not let me know whom You will send with me.  Yet You have said, ‘I know you by name, and you have also found grace in My sight.’ 13 Now therefore, I pray, if I have found grace in Your sight, show me now Your way, that I may know You and that I may find grace in Your sight.  And consider that this nation is Your people.” 14 And He said, “My presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.” 15 Then he said to Him, “If Your presence does not go with us, do not bring us up from here. 16 For how then will it be known that Your people and I have found grace in Your sight, except You go with us?  So we shall be separate, Your people and I, from all the people who are upon the face of the earth.” 17 So the Lord said to Moses, “I will also do this thing that you have spoken; for you have found grace in My sight, and I know you by name.”

Hebrews 12:1-3 (NKJV) Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, 2 looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. 3 For consider Him who endured such hostility from sinners against Himself, lest you become weary and discouraged in your souls.

John 15:10 (NKJV) If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and abide in His love.

Jeremiah 29:13 (NKJV) And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.

2 Timothy 1:12 (NKJV) For this reason I also suffer these things; nevertheless I am not ashamed, for I know whom I have believed and am persuaded that He is able to keep what I have committed to Him until that Day.

  • Perseverance “endurance combined with assurance and certainty that what we are looking for is going to happen.”

  • Our greatest weapon is our FAITH in God.

  • He is more than enough!
