Change Of Mind

Phillipians 2:12 (NIV) Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed—not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence—continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling.

the unplowed field of the wicked—produce sin.

1) Repentance (3341 metanoia) “a change of mind”

The way to cut off or avoid a major or macro sin, is to continually address the micro sins.

2)  Action is Required

James 4:17 (NIV) If anyone, then, knows the good they ought to do and doesn’t do it, it is sin for them.

Matthew 3:8 (NIV)  Produce fruit in keeping with repentance.

John 13:35 (NIV) By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another

Romans 12:12 (NIV) Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.

James 2:17 (NIV) In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.

3) Lived out in Community

Proverbs 27:17 (NIV) As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.

Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 (NIV) Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: 10 If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up. 11  Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm. But how can one keep warm alone? 12 Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.

Hebrews 10:25 (NIV) And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, 25 not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.
