Crossroad

                                                            CROSSROAD

Jeremiah 29:11-14 NKJV For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. 12 Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. 13 And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart. 14 I will be found by you, says the Lord, and I will bring you back from your captivity; I will gather you from all the nations and from all the places where I have driven you, says the Lord, and I will bring you to the place from which I cause you to be carried away captive.

1. God is for us

1 Peter 2:9 NKJV. But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;

2. God has given His son Jesus the authority to facilitate change in our lives

Ephesians 1:15-23 NKJV Therefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all the saints, 16 do not cease to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers: 17 that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, 18 the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, 19 and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power 20 which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, 21 far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come.

22 And He put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be head over all things to the church, 23 which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all.

3. Through Paul, God gives us a snapshot of past, present, and future

Ephesians 2:1-10 NKJV And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins, in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience, among whom also we all once conducted ourselves in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, just as the others. But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. 10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.

A crossroad is a place where decisions are made.

  1. We decide to make no change and continue going forward on the same path.  Sometimes we keep going forward and  may not even remember being at a crossroad.

  2. We decide to turn toward God, or possibly away from God

  3. A crossroad may be a place of physical change or a place of spiritual change.

  “GOD REWARDS ALL GROWTH WITH PRUNING!” (Bill Johnson)

Pruning is the process of cutting away or removing things that are not needed, making room for the things that are needed, to blossom and flourish.

We need to be aware that in the “PAST” we picked up some baggage. In the “PRESENT” the pruning process helps us to deal with the hurt, brokenness, shame, anger etc. The key phrase here is DEAL WITH IT”.
