Ten Conversations: How To Remain Pure In An Impure World
You must not have any other god but Me

You must not misuse the name of the Lord your God

Honor your father and mother
You must not murder
You must not commit adultery
You must not steal
You must not lie
You must not covet
Exodus 20:14 (NLT) You must not commit adultery.
Adultery — breaking wedlock
Matthew 5:27-28 (NLT) You have heard the commandment that says, ‘You must not commit adultery.’ 28 But I say, anyone who even looks at a woman with lust has already committed adultery with her in his heart.
True freedom isn’t just about outward behavior; it’s also about internal purity.
The problem isn’t that our culture thinks too much about sex. The problem is that we think about it too poorly.
1. God is pro-sex
Genesis 2:25 (AMPC) And the man and his wife were both naked and were not embarrassed or ashamed in each other’s presence.
Hebrews 13:4 (AMP) Marriage is to be held in honor among all [that is, regarded as something of great value], and the marriage bed undefiled [by immorality or by any sexual sin]; for God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterous.
2. God is not in favor of all sexual activity
Matthew 19:4-6 (AMP) “Have you never read that He who created them from the beginning made them male and female, 5 and said, ‘For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and shall be joined inseparably to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh?’ 6 So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore, what God has joined together, let no one separate.”
Matthew 15:19-20 (NLT) For from the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, all sexual immorality, theft, lying, and slander. 20 These are what defile you.
Romans 1:26-27 (NLT) That is why God abandoned them to their shameful desires. Even the women turned against the natural way to have sex and instead indulged in sex with each other. 27 And the men, instead of having normal sexual relations with women, burned with lust for each other. Men did shameful things with other men, and as a result of this sin, they suffered within themselves the penalty for their error.
Galatians 5:19-21 (NLT) When you follow the desires of your sinful nature, the results are very clear: sexual immorality, impurity, lustful pleasure, …21 and other sins like these. Let me tell you again, as I have before, that anyone living that sort of life will not inherit the Kingdom of God.
1 Corinthians 6:18-20 (NLT) Run from sexual sin! No other sin so clearly affects the body as this one does. For sexual immorality is a sin against your own body. 19 Don’t you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourself, 20 for God bought you with a high price. So you must honor God with your body.
1 Thessalonians 4:3-5 (NLT) God’s will is for you to be holy, so stay away from all sexual sin. 4 Then each of you will control his own body and live in holiness and honor—5 not in lustful passion like the pagans who do not know God and His ways.
Temptation might be powerful, but it’s not irresistible.
1 Corinthians 10:13 (NLT) The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, He will show you a way out so that you can endure [escape].
Matthew 5:27-30 (NLT) You have heard the commandment that says, ‘You must not commit adultery.’ 28 But I say, anyone who even looks at a woman with lust has already committed adultery with her in his heart. 29 So if your eye…causes you to lust, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into hell. 30 And if your hand…causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into hell.
John 8:10-11 (NLT) Then Jesus stood up again and said to the woman, “Where are your accusers? Didn’t even one of them condemn you?” 11 “No, Lord,” she said. And Jesus said, “Neither do I. Go and sin no more.”
Respect
Ephesians 5:33 (AMP) However, each man among you [without exception] is to love his wife as his very own self [with behavior worthy of respect and esteem, always seeking the best for her with an attitude of lovingkindness], and the wife [must see to it] that she respects and delights in her husband [that she notices him and prefers him and treats him with loving concern, treasuring him, honoring him, and holding him dear].
Responsibility
The problem with so many people who stand up for their rights is that they fall down miserably on their responsibilities.
