Matthew 3:16-17 [TPT], And as Jesus rose up out of the water, the heavenly realm opened up over him and he saw the Holy Spirit descending out of the heavens and rest upon him in the form of a dove. 17 Then suddenly the voice of the Father shouted from the sky, saying, “This is the Son I love, and my greatest delight is in him.”

Acts 10:38 [NIV], how God [Father] anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and power, and how he went around doing good and healing all who were under the power of the devil…

Matthew 28:19 [NKJV], Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit

2 Corinthians 13:14 [NKJV], The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God [Father], and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all.  Amen.

These scriptures reveal the Trinity.

1 John 5:7 [NKJV], For there are three that bear witness in heaven:  the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit; and these three are one.

Acts 5:3-4 [NLT], Then Peter said, “Ananias, why have you let Satan fill your heart?  You lied to the Holy Spirit, and you kept some of the money for yourself.  The property was yours to sell or not sell, as you wished.  And after selling it, the money was also yours to give away.  How could you do a thing like this? You weren’t lying to us but to God.

The Holy Spirit is God.

Are we experiencing the personal qualities of the Holy Spirit?

1.  Ignoring Him

”One of the most frightening comments I have heard since I entered into the ministry was uttered by an Episcopalian priest in America:  ‘If the Holy Spirit were taken completely from the church, 90 percent of the work of the church would go right on as if nothing had happened.’”  -R.T. Kendall

The main reason we ignore the Holy Spirit is because we like being in control.

2.  Being afraid of Him

Why are we afraid of our Comforter?

Can you trust the Holy Spirit with your life?
