When Order Looks Different

“When Order Looks Different”

God invited us to cultivate order in our every day lives.

God desires to bring order in…

-marriage

-friendships

-children

-personal health

-finances

-schedules

-cleanliness

-leadership skills

-relationship with God

Titus 1:5, For this reason I left you in Crete, that you should set in order the things that are lacking…

1.  God brought provision [Gen. 22]

2.  People were set free [Ex. 13]

3.  God devoured the enemy [Judg. 7]

4.  God gave the victory [O.T.]

5.  The fire fell [1 Kings 18]

6.  God’s presence filled the temple [2 Chron. 5]

7.  The glory of God came [Ex.]

“Glory always follows order.”

Hebrews 12:26-28 [NLT], When God spoke from Mount Sinai His voice shook the earth, but now He makes another promise:  “Once again I will shake not only the earth but the heavens also.” 27 This means that all of creation will be shaken and removed, so that only unshakable things will remain. 28 Since we are receiving a Kingdom that is unshakable, let us be thankful and please God by worshiping Him with holy fear and awe.

“In the midst of all of our struggles, stresses, difficulties and challenges God often shows up on the scene so that He can DISRUPT our present to change things for His purpose and glory.”

“If we want to see something different in the future then we need to be willing to allow the Holy Spirit to disrupt our present lives in whatever way He wants.”

Haggai 2:4-6 [NLT], But now the Lord says:  Be strong, Zerubbabel.  Be strong, Jeshua son of Jehozadak, the high priest.  Be strong, all you people still left in the land.  And NOW GET TO WORK, for I am with you, says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies. 5 My Spirit remains among you, just as I promised when you came out of Egypt.  So DO NOT BE AFRAID.’ 6 “For this is what the Lord of Heaven’s Armies says:  In just a little while I will again shake the heavens and the earth…”

Acts 16:22-32 [NLT], A mob quickly formed against Paul and Silas, and the city officials ordered them stripped and beaten with wooden rods. 23 They were severely beaten, and then they were thrown into prison.  The jailer was ordered to make sure they didn’t escape. 24 So the jailer put them into the inner dungeon and clamped their feet in the stocks. 25 Around midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening. 26 Suddenly, there was a massive earthquake, and the prison was shaken to its foundations.  All the doors immediately flew open, and the chains of every prisoner fell off! 27 The jailer woke up to see the prison doors wide open. He assumed the prisoners had escaped, so he drew his sword to kill himself. 28 But Paul shouted to him, “Stop!  Don’t kill yourself!  We are all here!” 29 The jailer called for lights and ran to the dungeon and fell down trembling before Paul and Silas. 30 Then he brought them out and asked, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?” 31 They replied, “Believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved, along with everyone in your household.” 32 And they shared the word of the Lord with him and with all who lived in his household.
